Criminal Defense &
Government Investigations
There is no greater work a lawyer can do
than to stand and give his
or her very best in representing those accused of serious crimes.
Every person accused of a criminal offense deserves zealous
representation at a time when society often passes judgment based
simply on the accusation. The rights of our clients and of society
as a whole depend on the vigorous advocacy of the defense.
We represent
individuals and corporate entities under investigation for, or
accused of, violating criminal laws. We represent people in federal
and state courts in all aspects of the criminal process, including
probable cause hearings, bail and detention hearings, pretrial and
trial matters, sentencings, appeals and post-trial proceedings.
Clients we have represented have faced a wide array of criminal
charges, from mortgage fraud, embezzlement, economic espionage, tax
fraud and OUI, to bank robbery, indecent assault and battery, drug
trafficking, firearms offenses and murder.
Because of the
high population of students in the Boston area, we have represented
dozens of students charged with criminal conduct, many
of whom face concurrent university or school discipline simply
because of the allegation that they have been involved in a crime.
Lurie & Krupp
also has extensive experience representing individuals and
corporations who fall within the ambit of a government
investigation, who are subpoenaed to give testimony and produce
records before state and federal grand juries, or who are subpoenaed
by regulatory bodies, including the IRS and the SEC. We have also
represented numerous people in jeopardy of losing their professional
licenses before various regulatory boards, including the
Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers and the Massachusetts Board of
Registration.
