Tom is a partner of Lurie & Krupp, LLP. Tom’s practice
involves litigation and counseling on all aspects of federal
and state employment law issues, including employment
discrimination and harassment, protection of trade secrets,
employee privacy and monitoring, wage and hour,
terminations, reductions-in-force, employment policies and
handbooks, and drafting and enforcement of all forms of
employment contracts, including separation, severance,
non-disclosure, confidentiality and non-solicitation and
non-competition agreements. Tom negotiates and prepares
these employment contracts for corporate clients as well as
executives, senior-level personnel and individual employees
within a wide range of industries, including
telecommunications, travel, high technology, biotechnology,
manufacturing, publishing and financial services.
In 2007, Boston and Law and Politics magazines named Tom one
of the top young lawyers in Massachusetts, including him in
their list of Massachusetts Super Lawyers
Rising Stars in employment law.
In addition to employment law, Tom’s practice
focuses on a variety of civil litigation, including general
business, contract and commercial lease disputes, real
estate and land use issues, intellectual property concerns
and unfair trade practices. In the past several years, Tom
has counseled clients and litigated on their behalf on a
full range of intellectual property issues including
patents, trademarks, trade names, trade secrets, licensing,
inventor disputes and domain names.
Tom represents clients before various state and federal
courts and administrative agencies, including the American
Arbitration Association, the Massachusetts Commission
Against Discrimination, the Massachusetts Division of
Employment and Training, the Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, the
Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community
Development Housing Appeals Committee and local town Zoning
Boards and Conservation Commissions. Tom also maintains a
national practice, having represented clients in state and
federal courts around the country including Massachusetts,
California, Connecticut, Florida, New York, New Hampshire,
New Jersey, Minnesota, Rhode Island, South Dakota and
Wisconsin.
Prior to joining Lurie & Krupp, LLP, Tom was an associate in
the business, employment and intellectual property
litigation sections of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky
and Popeo, P.C.
Tom is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the
United States District Court for the District of
Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. Tom
received his B.A. from Bates College, where he was a Dean’s
List student, Francis Quimet Scholar and a member of the
football and baseball teams. He received his J.D. from
Northeastern University School of Law. |
