ABOUT THE FIRM

Firm History
In 1996, Dave Lurie and Peter Krupp
decided to build a litigation practice together. Dave had been a
litigation partner at Mintz Levin in Boston, with thirteen years of
experience in state and federal commercial litigation. Peter had
been a federal criminal defense attorney with the Federal Defender’s
Office in Boston for four years, and a civil litigator for seven
years before that at Mintz Levin. Dave and Peter had worked on many
cases together at Mintz Levin, respected the best qualities in each
other, and trusted each other completely.
In 1997, Lurie & Krupp, LLP opened its
office on Milk Street, anchored by the multi-faceted skills of Kim
Seitz, who left the Federal Defender’s Office with Peter to join the
fledgling firm. From the outset, Lurie & Krupp was greatly aided by
a series of talented law student interns from Boston area law
schools. Over the years, Lurie & Krupp gradually added associates to
its ranks, two of whom had previously served as law student interns,
who then each did a stint at a big Boston firm before rejoining
Lurie & Krupp. In the Spring of 2001, the firm moved to its larger
current office in the historic building at One McKinley Square,
facing the entrance to the Custom House tower. In 2007, Tom Lent became the third partner at
Lurie & Krupp.
Since its inception, the firm’s practice has been a mix of
commercial litigation and criminal defense. On the civil side, we
have handled complex cases involving business torts, construction
disputes, environmental, general commercial/contract litigation,
eminent domain, trusts, estates, breach of fiduciary duty, bond
default, real estate development, zoning, land use, civil rights,
employment, intellectual property, unfair and deceptive trade
practices, municipal law and other areas. On the criminal side, we
have handled a range of white collar criminal cases, as well as
other federal and state felony trials and appeals. Our cases have
ranged from contractor fraud, economic espionage, false statements
to the government, and mortgage and tax fraud, to assault and
battery, armed bank robbery, drug offenses and murder. We also have
extensive experience representing businesses and individuals in
regulatory and grand jury investigations.
Since January 1, 1997, the firm has performed work for a wide array of
clients, including Bain & Company, Inc., Barletta Engineering Corp., Digitas, Inc., Fidelity Investments, Genta Corp., The Gillette
Company, H2O Applied Technologies, Massachusetts Housing Finance
Agency, Millipore Corp., Northeast Investors Trust, Remington Hotel
Group, Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc., the Town of Stoughton,
Trans National Group, Workscape, Inc., and numerous other businesses
and individuals.
